Yesterday when we walked into Home Depot there were 2 dogs. I asked the lady at the door if it was like "dog day" and she said that the dogs were being trained. I thought that was cool and we went to do what we had come for.
A while later we look down the aisle and we see the smaller of the dogs riding on a cart. We were getting wood cut so the saw was going and very loud. The man and the dog came over to us and explained that he was training these dogs and that they want them to be around lots of people and loud noises so that they don't react badly in other situations. He told the kids they could pet the dog, but Hadley was the only one that would. I explained that Zack had been bitten 2 weeks ago by little Shitzu dogs and the guy went and got this huge dog and showed the kids how to approach a dog. Zack pet the dog and so did Hadley. Jackson was very hesitant, but warmed up by the end. The trainer explained that he was training the dogs for a lady here in Cedar that was going to have the dogs work at therapy dogs.
I am grateful for this guy's patients, and willingness to teach my children about the dogs, and allow them to have a positive experience. For such a simple act, it touched me and I am truly grateful!
The guy that was training the dogs name is Randy and he owns Hot Dogs on a leash out of St. George. I was impressed with Randy and with the dogs that he was training. If anyone needs a dog trainer or dog sitter etc. I would call them. Their website is :http://pets.saintgeorgenow.com
*This is the trainer from Home DepotNow for my answered prayer. I have many prayers but today's was specific and needed an answer today. For the last 3 days we have been having torrential rain, with lighting and thunder and wind. None of this is bad until you have a soccer game. We had our last game scheduled for today and Sam and I both felt like we should cancel after how the weather had been in the last couple days. The only problem was that I can't find our soccer folder that has all the phone numbers. So, I said a prayer that our team mom would call me and ask if were still playing, or something.
Well she did not call, but the kids and I were at Wal-Mart and the 2nd aisle we turned down Heather(the team mom) was walking right at us. It may have been a simple prayer answered, but it was answered none the less! Heather called all the parents and all is well.
I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who answers our prayers and makes us aware that he knows us and what we need!!
